Most bones spurs may go undetected for years because they cause no signs or symptoms. Some bone spurs form in areas where they can rub against bones or push against nerves causing pain and disability.
Bone Spurs Symptoms
-Pins and needles in your hands or feet (burning or tingling sensation)
-Dull pain in the lower back or neck when standing or walking
-Loss of coordination in a part of the body
-Cramps or muscle spasms
-General muscle weakness
-Numbness
-If the affected is in the back or lower back, pain in the buttocks and thighs
-If the affected bone in in the neck, pain in the shoulders or headaches
Like most painful back problems physical activity tends to make the pain worse and rest usually will make you feel better. If there is severe pressure on the nerves that control the bladder and bowel, urges may become a problem.
